Ghost Glyph Review
As Halloween gets closer, more and more providers release the holiday-dedicated slots. As the title implies, the game covers a ghost theme, though, you won't find anything here to make your hair curl. The ghosts here are friendly and helpful, thus it has nothing in common with the horror genre.
Some of you might have thought about Quickspin's another game with the word 'Glyph' in the title, however, Golden Glyph bears no resemblance with the slot under review. Ghost Glyph is more like Just For The Win's recent slot, Spectre Estate, as the games both come with a ghost-inspired theme and are packed with interesting and authentic features to keep you entertained during the session. So let's find out whether Ghost Glyph will be able to surpass the above-mentioned game with the title of the best Halloween slot of 2020.
Ghost-GlyphGhost Glyph - Technical Info
The game is played across a massive 7x7 grid with the Cluster Pays system. It's powered by a medium-high volatile math model, which is rated by the developer 4 out of 5, so don't expect to be showered in wins and better adjust your bets wiser to survive in the long run. Nevertheless, Quickspin is helping with the moderate RTP of 96.18%, which is above the average level within the industry of 96%. Paired with the hit frequency of 33%, you'll get returns fairly often to keep you afloat since every third spin will theoretically be a winning one.

Playable from 0.2$ to 100$ per spin, the game provides a pretty wide betting range that would appeal to both high-rollers and less risky players. Speaking about high-rollers, all adrenaline lovers can win up to 226,000$ on a single spin. Not to say that 2,260 times the bet is a meager potential, however, we've seen a lot higher payouts so far.
Ghost Glyph - Design and Symbols
The actions take place on a driveway to a haunted mansion, where you arrived on a ghost tour and the paranormal creatures show you all the secrets of this bizarre place. The slot is visually superb, and we have to pay tribute to the design team who developed Ghost Glyph since everything looks just perfect. The animations are also smooth and lovely, especially when the little ghosts come into play.
The soundtrack is another of the highlights, as it fits the gameplay perfectly, adding a final touch to the atmosphere. The symbols are also of top-notch quality and depicted in detail. The collection includes 7 regular symbols, split into 4 lows and 3 highs. The pay symbols start at the low end with some coins patterned with different ornaments, including stars, moons, skulls, and spider webs. The more valuable symbols include different precious gems, involving in ascending order emeralds, rubies, and diamonds. There's also a Wild symbol included, which is represented by a golden ingot with a W letter on it. It acts as a regular Wild, substituting any other regular symbols, though, it doesn't have any own value.
As alluded to earlier, the game comes with a Cluster Pays mechanic. You'll require at least 5 horizontally or vertically matching symbols to score a win, and the highest payouts are given for clusters of 15+ symbols. All the low pays have the same value, and 15+ clusters will award 15x of the bet, while the premiums award 150x, 300x, and 600x of the bet respectively.
Ghost Glyph - Bonus Features
Ghost Glyph comes with a plentysome of features.
Quickspin's aim was not only to develop an entertaining game with interesting features but to also tell a story based on the interaction between players and the game. Clint Anderson, a producer at Quickspin says:We already had a very feature-rich game in mind for these kinds of characters, we handpicked the ghosts we liked the most from a selection of about 50 concepts. We wanted to tell a story with our features and develop a progression for the player to enjoyClint AndersonCCO, Quckspin
One of the central features of the game is the Tumble Mechanics. Whenever a winning cluster is made, all the symbols which took part in a winning combo get removed from the grid to allow new symbols to tumble down onto the reels to fill the empty spaces. The Tumble feature can not only launch a chain of consecutive wins on a single spin but is also strongly connected to other in-game features.
After a winning cluster is removed, a Ghost Glyph symbol appears in one of the gaps. and it continues to appear after every winning cascade.
This symbol is key to triggering the Ghost Urns feature. It acts as a Wild. substituting any other regular symbols, and when it's a part of a winning cluster, it's collected to fill one of the 5 urns displayed above the reels, which are randomly determined at the beginning of each spin, though, the last one will always be the blue one. There are 4 Ghost Urns in total, which correspond to a particular ghost, including yellow, red, green, and blue, and the filled urns activate after each non-winning cascade to assist you to form new winning clusters. Each of the urns award a particular bonus:
. Yellow - spreads Wild symbols across the grid. From 4 to 10 Wild symbols will be added to random positions of the reel set.
. Red - removes low-paying symbols.
Randomly selects one low-paying symbol to remove it from the grid.. Green - transforms low-paying symbols. Randomly selects one low-paying symbol to turn all of its instances into another low-paying symbol.
. Blue - gives access to the bonus game. Gives you a key to unlock the Free Spins game or awards 3 additional spins if already in the bonus game.
Whenever the 5th urn is activated, the players proceed to the Free Spins with 8 spins to start. New urns appear during the bonus game, and a Paranormality Meter appears on the opposite side of the reels. 8 tumbles are required to feel the meter, and after being filled, it levels up and unlocks a Massive Wild feature, which is awarded on a final free spin.
Ghost-GlyphThe feature has 22 levels, and if the meter reaches less than level 3, the Massive Wilds will be removed after taking part in winning combinations. The Wilds appear 2x2 in size in case you made it to the first level or 3x3 in size for any higher levels. At level 3 or higher, they move across the grid after each tumble and do not disappear from the reels.

The 200 Spins Experience
The ghost action immediately captured our heart so we decided to give it a try and share all the details of our exciting journey through the haunted house with you. However, before telling you about how it went, it's necessary to mention that here we'll just describe our subjective opinion on the game based on our personal experience, so it'll have nothing to do with accurate statistics or any patterns.
We did our test before the actual release of the game, though, we opted for a modest bet of 1$ per spin to keep things simple. Unfortunately, we started off with a bunch of non-winning spins, and it took us approximately 20 spins to land the first decent win of over 15x of the bet, though, it didn't end up with activating the Free Spins feature. The whole session can be described as a desperate effort of trying to trigger the precious blue urn since most of the time the chain of consecutive wins stopped after hitting the 3rd of 4th urn. Luckily, we had a lot of smaller wins helping us out pretty well to keep us afloat and save our bankroll. The Free Spins eventually came into play when we were about to finish our 200 spins test at something around 180th spin, and it saved the day indeed. The very first spin awarded us additional 3 Free Spins and a nice win of over 20x of the bet, and by the end of the feature, we made it to the Colossal Wilds which in turn led us to a massive 77.5x Mega Win.
Ghost-GlyphThe total win during the bonus round was 112.25x of the bet, however, due to a lot of dead spins throughout the session the total surplus was only 25 bucks. Not the most successful session, to be honest, but quite fun indeed. The base game hadn't been as fruitful as we would like it to be, however, it never felt like boredom for the lil' ghosts ensured that we hardly had a dull moment during the session.
Anyway, despite having a meager payout potential, Ghost Glyph might become a perfect choice for those who appreciate interesting gameplay enlivened with authentic features. All up, we hope you'll be even luckier than we had been, so may you be blessed with big wins.
Ghost Glyph - Verdict
Quickspin did a great job of developing this one as it delivers a great level of entertainment while being played. Every aspect of the game is primo. It boasts exceptional graphics and outstanding feature set, and the only downside is the cut down potential, which is only 2,260x of the bet. Nevertheless, if the potential is not the main reason why you feel drawn to spin the reels, you will find a lot here to get super fired.
The first thing that catches the eye when you load Ghost Glyph is the superb quality of the visuals. It's really charming and pleasing to the eye. The animations are perfectly designed and paired with the soundtrack will make you feel immersed from the first seconds of gameplay.
The feature set is still the main reason why players will get attracted by it. The urn modifiers are really interesting and fun as well as lucrative. All the urn extras work well together and paired with the Cluster Pays and Tumbling mechanics result in a fairly entertaining session. Moreover, with the hit frequency of 33% and a moderate feature hit rate the base game won't feel like boredom since the bonuses will pop up pretty often.
All said and done, Ghost Glyph is a decent option of what to play during Halloween and even more as it has all the chances of becoming a banger. If you're OK with the potential, it may become your must-have choice, otherwise, if you are keener on straightforward slots, Spectre Estate may be a better option.
