Oink Farm Review

All developers get there sooner or later, and Foxium has already tried their hand with several other well-known tropes (like leprechauns, pirates and vampires). It was about time they got their hands dirty in the popular farm slot genre in other words, and Oink Farm is a brightly colored cartoon-style release that certain players will probably find charming.

There is hardly anything new to see here though, but you get a somewhat unique Oink Coin collection system that leads to lingering full reel wilds. We’ve seen similar things before, and the same goes for the jackpot pick game and the sticky full reel wilds bonus round. A decent farm slot debut overall, but Foxium hasn’t really taken any chances with this release.

Oink Farm Slot Features

The premium symbols pay between 5 and 12.5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the piggie Wild pays 20x your stake for the same. The wild also steps in for pay symbols to help complete wins, but it cannot substitute for oink coins or scatter symbols (more about these below).

Oink Coins appear on a regular basis, and these are collected in the 3-slot meters above the respective reels where the coin or coins landed. Coin Meter progress is saved between bet size levels, and collecting 3 coins above a reel awards a full Wild Reel. The Wild Reel lasts for 3 spins in the base game, before the wild is removed.

You trigger the Bonus Round when you land windmill scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4, and landing 3 at the same time gives you 10 free spins. Any Wild Reels being generated from Oink Coin collection during the feature will remain in place for the duration of the bonus round. Any scatter that appears during the feature adds +2 free spins to your tally.

The Egg Rush Jackpot feature triggers at random times in the base game, and it’s a pick and click game where you pick from 16 chickens. You pick until you’ve matched up 3 of the same jackpot type, and the Mini, Minor, Major and Grand jackpots pay 15x, 50x, 500x or 5,000x your stake, respectively.

The 200 Spins Oink Farm Slot Experience

We had a decent time testing Oink Farm, although we’re not huge fans of poultry noise and similar antics. Turning off the sound is an option, but it kind of defeats the purpose.

Review Summary

The farm theme is kind of a double-edged sword at times. It can be charming up to a certain point, but then you just get enough of the chicken noise and animal antics. We didn’t find Oink Farm to be all that charming to begin with to be honest, and there is very little in the feature department that most players haven’t seen before. At least veteran players who’ve been around the block a few times.

You get occasional wild reels that linger for 3 spins in the base game, but a full screen of wilds awards “only” 400x your stake. This is the single spin max win in other words, although significantly more can come from the total bonus round win. Still, your best shot at cracking the 5,000x potential is via the random jackpot game, but overall there is hardly anything new to see here and there are better farm slots out there for sure.
