05 Mar Sydney Port congestion surcharge being removed
This is great news for all importers and exporters for both LCL and FCL shipments via Port Botany.
We are pleased to share the announcement from Freight & Trade Alliance regarding the removal of the Port Botany congestion surcharge. Hamburg Sud and Maersk released statements advising they will be removing the Sydney Port surcharge from March 15th, 2021.
Statement from the shipping lines:
“We would like to inform you that the operational situation in Sydney is improving, with vessel schedules expected to stabilise from mid-March.
In light of this development, we are pleased to advise that we will be withdrawing the Sydney Congestion Charge, applicable to cargo loaded or received for shipment (in case of FMC origin/destination) on vessels with from ETD 15th March 2021, based on pro forma date of departure.
Over the past months we have been facing significant schedule disruption as a result of the Sydney congestion and we appreciate your continued support and cooperation as we have managed multiple contingencies to continue to keep the global supply chain moving. “
We are hoping other Shipping lines will follow suit and we will keep you updated on this situation. Please do not hesitate to contact your Lynair Customs Team if you need any further information on these requirements at email@example.com
