We didn’t really imagine that Red Tiger would create a whole series from this concept when we first tried Dragons Clusterbuster, but that seems to be the case. Blobsters Clusterbuster comes after the Irish Luck release, Good Luck Clusterbuster, and fans of charming alien grid slots should pay attention. You get that in spades in this game, and the ET in the 3x3 sized UFO in the middle knows his modifier stuff.

He comes to life when all 8 lights around the UFO have been activated by adjacent wins, awarding 1 of 3 different modifiers. When all 3 have been activated once they will trigger at random times, and activating all 8 lights again is how you trigger the bonus round. Do the same during the feature to upgrade the win multiplier, and you can expect plenty of modifier triggers in the bonus round as well. The 7,517x potential is lower than the previous Irish Luck installment, but higher than the first game.

Blobsters Clusterbuster Slot Features

The premium symbols pay between 0.1 and 1.5 x your stake for the minimum of 5 in a cluster, and the payout range increases to 20 to 250 x your stake if you land 35+ matching symbols in a cluster. There are 3 modifiers that need to be unlocked as the game starts, and this is done by landing winning clusters adjacent to the 3x3 sized UFO at the center position. Turn all 8 lights on the UFO green, and you have unlocked one modifier feature.

The Blobby ET in the UFO triggers the modifier on the spin that follows, and this also turns off all the lights.

Here is an overview of the modifiers you get in chronological order:

• Upgrader - random low-value symbols that are not part of a winning cluster get upgraded to random premium symbols. You get between 8 and 24 symbols upgraded, or 11 to 31 during the Invader Spins bonus round.
• Frenzy - turns between 5 and 20 symbols wild, and wilds step in for pay symbols to help complete wins.
• Supersize - transforms 2 to 4 random premium symbols into 3x3 sized super symbols, and they count as 9 regular 1x1 sized symbols.

When you have unlocked all 3 modifiers, the Invade Spins Bonus Round will trigger when you activate all 8 UFO lights. This gives you 10 free spins, and you can expect a higher hit rate of modifiers during the bonus round.

Review Summary

Red Tiger has seen decent success so far with their Clusterbuster range, and Blobster Clusterbuster is well worth checking out as well. It comes with charming alien visuals, and it comes across as less “serious” than the original Dragons Clusterbuster. As usual, all the action is concentrated around the 3x3 sized center position symbol, and you need to unlock all 3 modifiers to realize the game’s full potential.

This gives you modifiers at random times, and you cannot trigger the bonus round until all 3 modifiers are unlocked. The feature comes with plenty of modifier action, and upgrading the win multiplier will increase your chances of cracking the 7,517x potential. This is less than half of what you get in the previous Good Luck Clusterbuster, but it’s higher than what’s on offer in the original Dragons Clusterbuster. We had a good time with Blobsters Clusterbuster at least, and this has turned into an interesting series to follow.
