Electric Avenue Review
There is a fine line between being inspired by another game when you make your own, and blatantly ripping it off. All41Studios has started on a trend lately that blur these lines, and the trend continues with Electric Avenue slot. The game has clearly been heavily influenced by the cult classic hit game, Danger. High Voltage, and it’s therefore hard to review it without the original source of inspiration in mind.
Both games play out on 6 reels, 4 rows and 4,096 ways to win, and you can place bets between 20p and £30 per spin here, which means that the bet range has been somewhat narrowed. The retro 80s theme is decently well done, but the soundtrack is mostly annoying and nothing near the quality you had with the source of inspiration for this game. You can play Electric Avenue on all handheld platforms and units, and the visual style is kind of slick and hipster-like.
Art Deco, neon light symbols and palm trees in the sunset of Miami Beach sets the tone here, as the dance clubs are opening and the nightlife is about to begin. You’ll find 4 different characters here in the form of stacked wilds, 2 males and 2 females. They all represent different aspects of the decade they are frozen in, and each stacked wild can also come with a multiplier value attached. This is pretty much the only bonus feature you’ll see in the base game, but it can help you land decent wins.

The main attraction is the 2 different bonus round options you get when you trigger the free spins feature. You will benefit from a stacked multiplier wild reel in one of them, and sticky wilds in the other. It’s hard to tell which one is the best option, but we tend to go where the multiplier is highest, and that’s the first option where multipliers up to 55x is possible. You can win up to 6,833x your stake here, and as a standalone game it’s pretty well-made and entertaining.
What symbols are there?
The Ghetto blaster is the most valuable symbol in this game, and the reels are filled with items anyone who grew up in the 1980s will probably recognize with a smile.
There are no paylines as such in this game, but instead you win when you land matching symbols on 3 to 6 adjacent reels from the left to the right. This win all ways system creates 4,096 ways to win in practice, and here we present you with the paytable for Electric Avenue slot:- Ghetto blaster - Pays 25x for 6 on adjacent reels
- DeLorean car scatter - Pays 20x for 6 anywhere on the reels
- Polaroid camera - Pays 5x for 6 on adjacent reels
- Sneakers - Pays 2x for 6 on adjacent reels
- Rubik’s Cube - Pays 2x for 6 on adjacent reels
- Sunglasses - Pays 1.25x for 6 on adjacent reels
- Soda can - Pays 1.25x for 6 on adjacent reels
- Royal symbols - Pays either 1x or 0.75x for 6 on adjacent reels
What are the bonus features?
This hip retro slot comes with some noteworthy bonus features, and you’ll see plenty of wilds and multiplier wilds in this game. This can certainly help rack up some nice payouts, and we shall walk you through all the main features here.
There are 4 different wilds in this game, and each wild is assigned to a specific reel. These wilds include a cheerleader on rollerskates on reel 2, a Micheal Jackson fan on reel 3, a karaoke girl on reel 4 and a skater on reel 5. The wilds will land fully stacked and fill the entire reel, and they will sometimes land with a multiplier value attached.
The multiplier value is the same as the reel number each wild can land on, which means that each wild from left to right potentially comes with a 2x, 3x, 4x and 5x multiplier. You can land a maximum of 2 wild reels with multipliers attached on the same spin, and the multipliers will then combine to give you a bigger payout. This is called the Wild Reels feature, and it certainly helps keep the base game interesting.
Free spins in Electric Avenue
The scatter symbol is the DeLorean sports car that was manufactured only in the early 80s, and was also featured in the 80s hit movie, Back to the Future. You need between 3 and 6 of this scatter symbol to trigger the free spins bonus round here, but first of all you will get a scatter win of either 2x, 5x, 10x or 20x your stake.
You can then choose between 2 different free spins features, and they play out as follows.Electric Free Spins
This option gives you 7 free spins to start with, and before the feature plays out a symbol will be chosen randomly. This symbol will be transformed into a Power Wild whenever it lands on the 4 middle reels, and this means that it becomes sticky for the duration of the bonus round. If you manage to fill an entire reel with Power Wilds, you will be granted 3 extra spins.
Neon Free Spins
This option gives you 10 free spins to start with, and any of the 4 middle reels can land a Multiplier Reel on any given spin. This Multiplier reel acts as a stacked wild symbol, and it comes with the multiplier values 11x, 22x, 33x, 44x and 55x. You can retrigger this feature by landing at least 3 scatters in view, and you can expect the Multiplier Reel Wild to drop at least 2-3 times during the feature.

The 200 Spins Electric Avenue Experience
The time has come to take this retro slot for a test spin, and we feel that around 200 spins is just about enough to give us a decent first impression. Be aware that our results are very subjective, as 200 spins is not enough to be statistically significant. Still, it’s a fun way to introduce this game to you, and test our beginner’s luck with Electric Avenue slot.
We set the bet level to £1 per spin, and then we maxed out the autospin meter to 100 autospins. We also turned on the quickspin feature, and we found the gameplay to be smooth and fast-paced to our liking with this option switched on. Not all that much happened on our first 100 spins, but we saw plenty of stacked wilds for sure.
Between all the dead spins we landed a few notable stacked multiplier wild wins of 14x and 16x, but the regular stacked wilds hardly made an impact when we won with them. We had many smaller wins of around 3x to 6x, but in the end it was not enough to keep us afloat. We set the autoplay feature up for another 100 spins session, and now our luck suddenly turned.
We triggered the bonus round by landing 3 scatters on the very first spin, and we chose the Neon Free Spins option due to the potentially massive 55x multiplier we could benefit from here. We landed the multiplier wild reel on our second free spin, and got the 44x multiplier. This landed us a 22x win, which was a bit disappointing. On the 5th spin we got another 44x multiplier, and this time we won 55x. In total the bonus round landed us 79.60x our stake, which wasn’t really all that impressive.
We got lucky towards the end, and triggered the bonus round once again. This time we went with the Electric Free Spins option, and this gave us a total of 4 sticky wilds over the 7 spins we got. We did not retrigger either of the bonus rounds, and this time we only won a measly 24.75x our stake with the clubs symbol as the chosen symbol for wild transformation. Being a highly volatile game, we knew this could happen, and we hope your beginners luck beats ours in a major way!
Review Summary
Electric Avenue is dripping with 80s nostalgia, but the soundtrack becomes a bit one-sided and annoying after a while. All41Studios have obviously been heavily inspired by the popular Danger. High Voltage slot from Big Time Gaming, as the bonus features are very similar (not to say ripped off). The problem is that the source of inspiration offers a better math model, so clearly All41Studios have no plan of competing with it. If you dig the 80s and want a watered down version of Danger. High Voltage, this game might just be for you.
Pros
- Stacked wilds and multiplier wilds
- 2 free spins features with extras
- High volatility and 6,833x max win potential
Cons
- High volatility and 6,833x max win potential
- Max bet is “only” £30
If you appreciate Electric Avenue you should also try:
You’ll find plenty of slots out there that’s based around the strange and somewhat cringeworthy style of the 1980s. Neon lights, horrible color combinations and amazing synth pop music is what most people think about when they remember the 80s, and here we shall take a look at some games you might like if you enjoyed Electric Avenue slot.
Danger High Voltage - is based on the obscure one hit wonder by the american band, Electric Six, and this game is the source of inspiration for the game at hand. It’s a better game in all departments, from the soundtrack to the 20,000x max win potential. Even the bonus features are better, as the multiplier is higher, and if you like Electric Avenue there is no reason not to check this one out too.
Prime Zone - comes with curved reels and a nice soundtrack. You will benefit from 5x multiplier wilds here, and the free spins bonus round comes with 4 different options. The volatility, max win potential and number of spins is different for each of the options, and wins up to 5,000x your stake is possible here.
Wild Beats - is a Playtech slot that pays tribute to break dance and disco. There is a Dance it Out feature that gives you plenty of wilds in the base game, and you can also benefit from multipliers that can boost your winnings. The game does not come with any free spins bonus round, but it has a simplistic appeal that can land you solid wins up to 5,000x your stake.
