Apparently, Yggdrasil is starting an ‘of the Underworld’ slot series, and Champion of the Underworld seems to be the first installment. They have a few related releases from before though, but not with that exact wording in the title. In addition to Wild Fights at random times in the base game, you also get a dynamic grid experience via the Gigablox symbols.

They don’t really change the grid though, as they count as 1x1 sized symbols when part of anything. The 6x4 reels setup with 4,096 win ways is something this developer does well, and the cartoonish underworld visuals displays a massive arena where different ungodly creatures duke it out with Hades himself. The 10,000x potential is solid, and this is a game well worth checking out.

Champion of the Underworld Slot Features

You get Gigablox symbols up to size 4x4 on each spin, and the Gigablox symbols are broken down to regular 1x1-sized symbols if part of a win. The 4 demon-like premium symbols pay between 1 and 2 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and the Skull Wild steps in for pay symbols to help complete wins.

You get the Wild Fight feature at random times in the base game, and you will then see Hades fight any premium symbol in sight. The symbols turn wild if Hades wins, and this includes Gigablox symbols.

We like the idea and concept this Yggdrasil release is built around, as it’s not too hard to imagine nasty creatures in the underworld duking it out tournament style for entertainment and hierarchy-climbing. The execution is pretty solid as well, and Champion of the Underworld comes with engaging visuals and scary looking multi-eyed monsters.

The soundtrack became a bit too repetitive after a while though, but Gigablox and random Wild Fights keeps the base game varied and interesting. The bonus round varies a lot as well, and starting with a larger number of spins is a huge advantage when it comes to climbing the multiplier ladder. The 10,000x potential is decent enough, and overall Champion of the Underworld is a decent installment in the Gigablox/Wild Fight range.
